Up on the blog is a gorgeous wedding from the Colonial Country Club in Harrisburg, PA. I’ve known Maddie and Travis since we were kids. I’m talking like 10, maybe 11. When they asked for Matt Stambaugh Films to capture their wedding day, I was stoked. It’s always such an honor to be able to provide a film for years to come. We offer insight in to your legacy. Something you can show your family YEARS down the line. Capturing at the Colonial Country Club is really nice. Granted I live about 4 minutes away, they run a tight ship and let us get creative. It’s awesome.
Maddie and Travis were a blast to work with. They were down for anything and the day went so smoothly. The entire day was spent at Colonial and the one thing I love about the property is the light. There is some GORGEOUS light for bride prep and groom prep. It’s really a key part to help make couples look the absolute best during prep. From that point on, we were pumped. Travis wrote Maddie a letter that was really unstoppable. So well written, and the reaction from Maddie was perfect. It was really cool being able to incorporate the bottom of Travis’s shoes in to the film. When we are moving on the fly for weddings, our minds are constantly turning with how can we incorporate this in to the film, in a creative way, that makes sense. Most of the time when we film, we shoot for a sequence. When we shoot, we are shooting with the edit in mind of how it will be pieced together in post. During prep, we listen for those conversations that make sense for a film, we look for the fine details. Typically during bride / groom prep, we are looking for 5-7 second shots, and then for certain instances, rinse and repeat with a different angle so we can really tell your story to the best ability. Maddie and Travis understood it from the get go and let us do our thing. It was incredible.
Head to the ceremony where Travis got to see his bride for the first time all day. With one of the longest isle’s in the area, the anticipation was tough for Travis I can only imagine. The key moment from my wedding day I remember is seeing Courtney for the first time as she walked down the isle. It’s easily one of my favorite parts of a wedding day.
From there, the rest of the day was history and went off without a hitch. Gorgeous light, great toasts and a packed dance floor really made their wedding day perfect.
